About The Transfer Ledger

An independent, data-first guide to one question: how hard is it to transfer to Boston College?

Independent guide. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Boston College.

The Transfer Ledger is a small independent publication. It exists because the numbers behind the Boston College transfer acceptance rate are public but scattered across many PDF files, and because a lot of what circulates online is mislabeled, rounded beyond recognition, or simply unsourced. We gather the official figures in one place, check them, and explain what they mean for a student deciding whether and when to apply.

The site is written and maintained by The Transfer Ledger Editorial Team. We are not admission counselors, we are not employed by any university, and we do not offer paid consulting. Nothing on the site is written by or on behalf of Boston College.

How we check facts

  • Primary sources first. Statistics come from Boston College’s Common Data Set files on bc.edu and, for comparisons, from each university’s own CDS. Policy statements come from BC’s official transfer admission page. Federal figures come from NCES College Navigator.
  • We recalculate. Admit rates and yields are computed from the published counts, not copied from summaries.
  • We label years precisely. Each figure names its entering term and CDS edition. Where a document is internally inconsistent, we say so in a note.
  • We leave out what we cannot verify. If no official source supports a number, such as an average admitted transfer GPA for BC, we don’t publish one.
  • We date our checks. Every page shows when it was last reviewed. The current figures were checked on November 3, 2026.

Editorial policy

Our writing is original. We quote official sources sparingly and link to them so readers can confirm details. We don’t publish testimonials, reviews, or stories about individual applicants. When BC publishes new data, such as a new Common Data Set edition, we update the affected pages and the “Last updated” date.

The site may display advertising in the future to cover hosting costs. Advertising will never influence which figures we report or how we describe them, and ads will be clearly separate from editorial content.
